Carlo Somma was born of goodly, native Italian parents on the precious gems region and city in Brazil, Minas Gerais (General Mines); he is the son of d'art. Descendent of noble lineage from north & south of Italy, the Sommas joined the Lottas family, di Caserta city, near Torre Dell Grego, world leader of coral & cameo jewels and sculpture from old masters since the XV century.
The Somma family distinguished themselves in the arts (Music, theater, metalwork, sculpture and lapidary work of gems & corals), and the precious metals & gems awoke the innate artisan & artistic talent of the contemporary artist & designer Carlo Somma.
